It’s the simple things

It’s the simple things

Yesterday, I took the day off for special reasons. It turns out that I didn’t need to take the day off after all, so what did I do? I took an impromptu trip to the Jersey Shore. After being tossed around a handful of jug handles, I made it to Point Pleasant, had my walk on the beach and ate my hotdog with the magic combination of ketchup AND mustard.

Today I looked out of my 19th floor apartment and watched the skies grow dark. The rain that fell on the streets was soundless from so far up. I still reveled in the beauty of Mother Nature. Later I hung out in Nyack to have lunch, a brief interval of car sickness and intense dizziness didn’t stop me from having a good day. We had lunch at a near empty Mexican restaurant. The waitress was super nice and the great food helped me recover from my vertigo (sodium fixes everything for me). When we walked outside the sun was shining brightly and I could see the beautiful Hudson River in the distance. The same Hudson that flows by my home, where I spend time jogging, walking, reading and just staring at Manhattan. If there was a brick wall close enough near the water, I would surely be playing tennis there too ;) I’m a native New Yorker and even though I’ve defected to Jersey, we all know I LOVE NEW YORK. Whether it’s the Catskills or the city, I revel in the beauty of the Empire State.

I held a captive audience, or should I say I held my audience captive about what else? Tennis. Clay courts, hard courts, grass courts, stats, the new men’s number one, my predictions for the Open, I need a tennis partner, until I get one the brick wall by Target will have to do. The only reason I would ever return to Paris would be to see Rafa play on clay. If I didn’t have a business to run, I would be camping out at Flushing Meadows for two weeks. There needs to be more inspiration in women’s tennis. Blah, blah, blah. This was all before the Starbucks coffee too.

I also received a great compliment today, I was told that I have a very nice smile :)

Thank you. Your compliment was fabulous ;)
